Kosovo police seized more than 300 cryptocurrency mining machines due to power shortages

What’s new? The Kosovo police released information saying that 272 bitcoin mining machines “Antminer” in Leposavic municipality and another 39 units in the Pristina area have been confiscated. The law enforcers also detained a driver transporting 6 cryptocurrency mining machines with 42 video cards (GPUs) near Druar in Vushtrri. The driver was questioned and released.

In December, Kosovo declared a state of emergency for 60 days due to the energy crisis and power shortages. As of January 5, the Minister of Economy has imposed a total ban on cryptocurrency mining.
