What’s new? Kraken CEO Jesse Powell gave an interview to Bloomberg in which he stated that his company will launch its own NFT marketplace in early 2022. The platform will pre-value tokens and issue loans to buy them. Powell has not yet reported on the details of the platform's operation.
What else did Powell say during the interview? The CEO believes that 2021 will go down in history as the year of the NFT. Powell argued that in a few years, the non-fungible token market will outgrow the current “speculation” phase, highlighting three phases of development:
“The first phase is speculation, the second phase is buying art and supporting artists, and the third phase is the functional use of the NFT.”
