What’s new? The largest upgrade in the history of Litecoin has been deployed on the testnet, Litecoin creator Charlie Lee said on Twitter. The new version of Litecoin Core 0.21.2 includes the Mimblewimble Extension Block (MWEB) upgrade. The Mimblewimble upgrade has a feature that makes transactions virtually untraceable. MWEB developer David Burkett has confirmed that the troubleshooting is coming to an end and the official launch of Core 0.21.2 is imminent.
What is known about MWEB? Mimblewimble is a protocol with a Proof-of-Work consensus algorithm that allows transaction data to be hidden. The protocol is also highly scalable. MWEB was created in July 2016 by a group of anonymous developers.
Litecoin is the third most popular cryptocurrency among Russians. The experts from Brand Analytics analyzed a sample of 2,4 billion posts published on social media between October 1 and October 31, 2021.
