What had happened before? MetaMask’s developers have warned that there may be restrictions on access to the wallet for users from some countries. Last week, the wallet holders began receiving emails from unknown people who introduced themselves as the MetaMask developers. With the help of spam mailings, the attackers wanted to gain access to users’ wallets.
