What’s new? On July 18, the Crypto.com crypto exchange listed the r/CryptoCurrency Moons (MOON) token launched by Reddit administrators as part of the Community Points project. After that, the coin’s rate rose by 155,4% in 24 hours from $0,246605 to $0,629834. As of July 19, 09:55 UTC, MOON’s value corrected to $0,466348.

Listing details. Users of the Crypto.com app can buy MOON at real value for US dollars, euros, pounds sterling, and 20 other fiat currencies, and spend it at over 80 million merchants worldwide with the Crypto.com Visa Card.

What is known about MOON? It is an ERC-20 standard token issued on the Arbitrum Nova blockchain in 2020. Coins are distributed to users based on their activity on the r/Cryptocurrency subreddit and can be used to exchange tips.

MOON is independent of Reddit, tokens can be freely transferred and spent in r/CryptoCurrency, used to display reputation on the subreddit, unlock exclusive features, and give weight to votes in polls. So, MOON provides community management through surveys that can be created by any Reddit member.

The coins are stored in the Ethereum-based Vault wallet, which was integrated into Reddit in 2022.
