What’s new? South Korean tech giant Samsung Electronics has integrated support for the NFT marketplace Nifty Gateway into its new range of Smart TVs. According to the company’s official press release, the new models of the QLED and NEO QLED ranges already support non-fungible tokens features.
What had happened before? Samsung announced NFT enabled TVs in January 2022. One day after that announcement, LG announced the same plans. In February, Samsung revealed a new smartphone with an integrated cryptocurrency wallet, the presentation of which took place in the metaverse.
What is Nifty Gateway? It is a marketplace of non-fungible tokens, founded in 2018. Nifty Gateway is part of the Gemini cryptocurrency exchange. One can pay on the platform with fiat money or tokens placed on Gemini.
