What’s new? Nomura, a major Japanese financial holding company, has announced a reorganization and change of the format of its subsidiary Future Innovation. The published release says it will create a new digital company (the name not yet disclosed) by April 1, 2022.

What else is known about the new division? The digital company will explore and implement technologies such as cryptocurrencies, security tokens, and NFTs into the holding’s operation. At the same time, the innovations are planned to be introduced in other Nomura subsidiaries. The conglomerate’s management stated that it sees great potential and new opportunities for current and future customers.
“This is an important next step in our digital evolution. Digital technology is a critical part of our strategic drive to expand our operations in private markets. The new Digital Company will lead deeper collaboration among internal and external stakeholders,” stressed Kentaro Okuda, President of the holding.
