What’s new? Cryptocurrency exchange OKX has signed a sponsorship agreement with the English football club Manchester City. According to the agreement, the OKX logo will be placed on the players' uniforms during the 2022/2023 soccer season. Under the terms of the deal, the exchange will pay £10 million ($12 million) for one season, City AM reported.
Comments from deal participants. OKX marketing director Haider Rafique said he plans to bring in FC players to produce promotional materials. He said the campaign concept will be based on parallels between being a successful athlete and a trader. OKX has also brought in street artists under the pseudonyms Akse P19 and Global Street Art Agency to create murals featuring FC players in Manchester.
Roel de Vries, chief operating officer of the club's parent company, City Football Group, said:
“OKX and Man City are aligned on values such as innovation and success and for both parties, everything starts with training and education.”
Earlier it was reported that Manchester City would issue its own NFTs with 3D images of the club's players. The tokens will be available on Quidd's marketplace. The first four NFT drops will take place at the end of the football season.
