What’s new? Pablo Picasso’s granddaughter, Marina Picasso, and her son Florian Picasso will release 1010 NFTs of unpublished works by the famous artist. The first auction will be held by Sotheby’s in March and will feature a ceramic bowl. Part of the proceeds will go to charity, Bloomberg reports.
What do the artist’s heirs say about the auction? Marina Picasso, the artist’s granddaughter, speaks enthusiastically about the ceramic bowl:
“It is joyful, happy. It represents life … It is one of those objects that have been part of our life, our intimate lives — my life with my children.”
Her son, Florian Picasso, is very excited about the upcoming event. He stated that in this way they are trying to build a new young community of Picasso fans:
“We are trying to build a bridge between the NFT world and the fine art world. I think it fits within Picasso’s legacies because we are paying tribute to him and his way of working, which was always being creative. Everything is evolving.”
