What’s new? RTVI TV channel has created a virtual representation in the metaverse. RTVI has already bought a plot of land on the Decentraland platform and showed the first shots of its online platform. Decentraland users will be able to visit the RTVI representative office and watch current programs and exclusive content available only in the metaverse. What else is known about the channel’s plans? According to RTVI CEO Olga Piven, up to $100 000 will be invested in the project in 2022. Investments will be used to develop the visual part of the online representation, hold virtual events and create NFT objects.

RTVI is an international media holding and TV channel with a total audience of 25 million people. RTVI (formerly NTV International) was founded in 1997 and currently broadcasts in 66 countries.

Decentraland is a virtual reality platform running on the Ethereum blockchain. Users can use it to buy land, create spaces, attend events, and communicate with other users’ digital avatars.

What events happened before? In February, JPMorgan, the largest bank in the US, opened a virtual lounge in the Decentraland metaverse. The Onyx Lounge, named after JPMorgan’s own blockchain payments system, was presented along with the bank’s report. It describes the types of business opportunities that the companies can find in the metaverse.

On February 5, US residents Ryan and Candice Hurley held a wedding ceremony in the Decentraland metaverse. It was the first wedding to take place in blockchain-based virtual reality.
