Coinbase’s global advisory board team already includes former Republican Senator Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania and former Democratic Representative Stephanie Murphy of Florida, as well as several other former officials from both parties.
Coinbase, along with the Kraken exchange, fintech company Ripple, venture capital fund Andreessen Horowitz, and others, contributed to raising $78 million that went to support pro-innovation political candidates in 2024. The donations were made through Fairshake’s crypto-focused political action committee (PAC).
Dudley said in a statement that more consumers are turning to cryptocurrency as a way to engage with the broader financial ecosystem.
