What’s new? Deputy Energy Minister Yevgeny Grabchak called for mining to be made legal in the country as soon as possible. Grabchak made the statement at the first all-Russian conference of legal miners in Irkutsk, TASS reports.
What other statements were made? According to Grabchak, there is currently a legal vacuum in the field of mining that needs to be addressed.
“The legal vacuum makes it difficult to regulate this sphere and establish transparent rules of the game. And this legal vacuum needs to be eliminated as soon as possible. If we want to somehow get along with this activity, and we have no other options in the current reality, we must introduce legal regulation, fixing the concept of mining in the regulatory framework.”
According to Grabchak, the provision of capacities and sites for miners should be carried out by the local, not federal, authorities. In addition, these actions need to be synchronized with the relevant plans for the development of the regions.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak stated that cryptocurrency mining should be fixed in Russia at the legislative level as a type of activity. In his opinion, this decision will allow for the legalization of mining and the levying of taxes in this sector.
