What’s new? The Solana Foundation, a non-profit organization, has integrated artificial intelligence into the Solana (SOL) Blockchain with an artificial intelligence chatbot plugin called ChatGPT from OpenAI, TechCrunch reports. The plugin, developed by Solana Labs, is initially aimed at end consumers, with a focus on helping them to master the Web 3.0 space. It will be used to buy and sell non-fungible tokens (NFTs), transfer cryptocurrencies, verify transactions, interpret data, and find NFT collections at minimal prices.
What else is known about the integration? Tal Tchwella, head of product at Solana Labs, said that ChatGPT is connected to a Remote Procedure Call (RPC) node that reads data from multiple sources on the network and distributes that information to users who ask questions. For example, users can learn from the AI about what NFTs they can buy with native tokens SOL.
Initially, the ChatGPT plugin will focus on NFTs, with the volume of sales of such assets on Solana totaling $54,22 million (CryptoSlam’s data) over the last 30 days, and the subsector is actively used by the blockchain and its users.
The ChatGPT integration also offers users and developers a simplified way to get information about the ecosystem. Tchwella explained that the blockchain sphere “is way too technical,” and the bot will allow the data it seeks to be retrieved without having to study the project’s technical documentation, which includes about 800 pages.
In April, the Solana Foundation launched a fund for developers of AI-enabled blockchain projects and expanded its grant program from $1 million to $10 million. In less than a month, 50 companies applied for grants, and several have already received funds.
Tchwella expects that AI technology will help simplify the process of developing smart contracts and using blockchain in general.
What is ChatGPT? The bot was developed by the OpenAI lab, co-founded by Elon Musk and Sam Altman, with support from Microsoft. It can solve a wide range of tasks by generating textual content in response to requests. It can be used in trading, suggesting possible asset price movements. The public prototype was presented on November 30, 2022. The service was actively used by 100 million people in January 2023, making it the fastest-growing service.

In March, ChatGPT’s integration was announced by the team of the analytics portal Dune. The bot converts code-based SQL queries into natural language to simplify the extraction and analysis of data about the crypto market that users and developers need.
In May, Binance accused ChatGPT of spreading fakes about Changpeng Zhao, the exchange’s head. The platform allegedly provides users with false information that Zhao is a member of the Chinese Communist Party and developer of a social platform for the China National Petroleum Corporation.
