What else did the ministry report? The regulator stressed that at the legislative level there is a division between the use of electricity for household needs and consumption for commercial activities. The tariff for entrepreneurs can be applied not only to large companies but also to individuals who profit from mining:
“The prevailing norms don’t exclude the opportunity of identifying consumption in a dwelling for commercial activities and settlements with such a consumer at prices set for enterprise entities.”
What had happened before? The governor of the Irkutsk region Igor Kobzev said that the regional authorities are ready to provide sites for mining on an industrial scale. According to him, this will reduce the load on the power grid and help separate the tariffs for miners from households ones.
