What’s new? Vitalik Buterin criticized the NFT collection Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), which was created on the Ethereum blockchain. In an interview with Time magazine, he shared his concerns about investors buying tokens that are perceived in people’s minds as “displays of wealth.”
What does Buterin say? and a better way would be to buy tangible luxuries. He added:
“The peril is you have these $3 million monkeys and it becomes a different kind of gambling.”
Who has already bought BAYC tokens? Celebrities such as Steph Curry, Jimmy Fallon, and Paris Hilton have bought the NFT Bored Ape Yacht Club. The minimum price of the token is around $280 000 and some are selling for millions of dollars. The Bored Ape Yacht Club continues to be the best-selling NFT collection on the OpenSea market.
