What’s new? Vitalik Buterin said on Twitter that he and Sandeep Nailwal, co-founder of Polygon, have distributed funds to help India fight the coronavirus. Buterin received back some of the SHIB invested back in 2021. The move should speed up some of the transactions as Vitalik is not a citizen of India and is not subject to restrictions.
CryptoRelief sending $100m of the $SHIBA funds back to me. I plan to personally deploy these funds with the help of science advisors to complement CryptoRelief's existing excellent work with some higher-risk higher-reward covid science and relief projects worldwide. https://t.co/xvHxzwwdn8— vitalik.eth (@VitalikButerin) January 28, 2022
How does Buterin plan to help India? Back last year, the Ethereum creator donated $500 000 million to Nailwala’s charity Crypto Relief in the form of SHIB. Now he has received some of the money back so that the charity complies with Indian law.
Buterin has stated that he will dispose of these funds to help India:
“I plan to personally deploy these funds with the help of science advisors to complement CryptoRelief’s existing excellent work with some higher-risk higher-reward COVID-19 science and relief projects worldwide.”
