What’s new? The Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) team has officially announced a partnership with Horizen Labs. Horizen Labs then anonymously purchased Astronaut Bored Ape #6709 for 100 ETH, or $420 000. On February 25, the participants of the deal became known.
Dean Steinbeck, president of Horizen Labs, stated:
“We are thrilled to be part of the BAYC community and look forward to participating in multiple ways, including bringing new products and services to the ecosystem to make it more diverse and robust.”
What does this mean for Horizen Labs? Joining BAYC hints at the company's plan to enter tokenization. Horizen Labs develops solutions for Web 3.0. They create blockchain products and tools for the “decentralization revolution.”
Rob Viglione, CEO of Horizen Labs, said:
“This purchase is a sign of our strong partnership with the Bored Ape Yacht Club and our growing role in developing the Web3 space. When determining which Bored Ape to purchase, the Astronaut Bored Ape #6709 stood out to us. It is a signal that we are ready to go to the moon together with the BAYC community, the Horizen community, and all our other partners.”
