What’s new? A vending machine that sells NFTs has been opened in New York. The vending machine runs on the Solana blockchain, with the Neon marketplace responsible for minting the tokens. The customers will be able to pay for the purchase of NFTs with a credit card, without using cryptocurrencies, Decrypt reports.
How does the vending machine work? To buy an NFT, one needs to pay with a Visa or Mastercard. The machine will then give out a box with a QR code inside, which has to be scanned to get your NFT online.
The customers will not know what kind of token they will receive, only the collection can be chosen. The vending machine currently has two different types of NFTs: Party Pigeons and Project Color.
What do Neon’s representatives say about the vending machine? Neon CMO and co-founder Jordan Birnholtz stated that he wants to make the process of buying NFTs as easy as possible.
“My thought was that there is literally no simpler way to buy something than a vending machine. Neon started with fiat because our mission is unique, to bring digital art and collecting to the largest possible audience.”
Birnholtz also said that he does not use cryptocurrency for the greater convenience of customers, but Neon plans to add such a feature soon.
