Bitzlato crypto exchange reports its hack and loss of funds

What’s new? On the morning of January 18, representatives of the Bitzlato service reported that hackers hacked and withdrew part of the funds from the platform. All withdrawals are currently suspended for an indefinite period. In addition, users were asked not to deposit their accounts during the investigation.
What else is known? Later, the Bitzlato team reported that the hackers managed to withdraw only a “small part of the funds” and also guaranteed the return of assets to all those affected. It is also reported that at the moment nothing is threatening the users’ funds, but for security reasons, the service has been temporarily suspended.
What is known about Bitzlato? It is an exchange and P2P platform for buying and selling crypto assets. It allows one to exchange cryptocurrency in the app and Telegram bot with zero fees. The service has been operating since 2015 and supports hundreds of coins.
Earlier, it became known that in December 2022, attackers caused $62 million in damage to cryptocurrency projects. And in total, about $3,7 billion was lost as a result of the implementation of fraudulent schemes and hacks in the past year, which was the worst result in the entire history of observations.
