What’s new? American restaurant chain Chipotle will raffle off $200 000 in bitcoins, Ethereum, Avalanche, Solana, and Dogecoin as part of its Buy the Dip promotion. To participate in the drawing, one needs to go to the company’s website and play a mini-game. Every day from July 25 to July 31 five players will get $2000 in BTC, five will get $1000 in ETH, five will get $250 in SOL, and twenty players will receive a choice of $150 in AVA or DOGE. On the last day of the promotion, the prize amounts will be increased. Other participants will receive consolation prizes in the form of coupons.
What is known about the company? Chipotle is a chain of Mexican restaurants specializing in burritos and tacos. The chain has locations in cities in the US, UK, Canada, Germany, and France. Since June, restaurants in the United States began accepting cryptocurrency payments through the Flexa platform.
Chris Brandt, Chief Marketing Officer at Chipotle, said that the company wants “to build the next generation of Chipotle fandom by connecting with the Web 3.0 community.”
What happened before? In November 2021, the fast-food chain Burger King ran a similar advertising campaign. As part of the promotion, customers of the fast-food chain who spent more than $5 received a raffle coupon. It could be redeemed on the website for one random token. The promotion included 20 BTC, 200 ETH, and 2 million DOGE.
