What’s new? Cryptocurrency exchange CrossTower will add NFTs issued on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) blockchain to its platform. To do this, the exchange has partnered with the payment company Ripple. According to the press release, the collaboration will reduce costs for developers who would like to launch their projects on the blockchain.
What is Ripple? It is a payment protocol created in 2012 by Ripple Labs for currency exchange and transactions. It is used by government financial institutions in Australia, Canada and Israel. XRP Ledger is a decentralized, open-source public blockchain.
What is known about CrossTower? It is an American Web 3.0 exchange founded in 2019 and based in Jersey City, with another branch based in India. The site trades popular cryptocurrencies and tokens, including bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, USDC, SUSHI, AAVE and others. CrossTower has already attracted Antara and David Bowie World projects to its trading floor, and has a number of projects on XRPL.
Earlier, Ripple and NFT platform FLUF World announced a collaboration to launch the Root Network blockchain. The network will be the basis for an “The Open Metaverse” with support for NFT features. The network initially supports bridges between XRP Ledger and Ethereum blockchains.
