What’s new? On May 22, there was a technical failure on the network of the anonymous cryptocurrency Dash. The stoppage occurred at block 1 874 879 during the activation of the Dash Core v19 upgrade, Dash Core Group CTO Samuel Westrich said on Twitter. The network is currently not producing blocks and developers are trying to fix the problem.
There was a problem during v19 activation of Dash Core. The chain is stalled and currently not producing blocks. We have everyone investigating the issue. I will continue with updates on Twitter as we have more information. — Samuel Westrich (@SamWestrich) May 22, 2023
What else is known? The release of Dash Core v19 was unveiled in April 2023. It includes a number of improvements and updates to fix bugs. Upgrading to v19 was mandatory for operators of all network nodes, and the migration process itself, according to the developers, was supposed to take no more than 30 minutes.
Following the information about the shutdown of the production of new blocks, the Binance Pool mining pool, owned by crypto exchange Binance, reported the temporary suspension of distribution of DASH mining rewards until the network restores its operation.
Announcement on the Binance blog
The network shutdown incident has had little effect on the value of the asset so far. As of May 22, 13:00 UTC, the DASH price is $43,49, having lost 0,3% in 24 hours, according to Binance.
