What’s new? French state-owned electricity supplier Electricite de France (EDF) has become an Ethereum validator, running more than 150 nodes on the network. One of EDF’s subsidiaries, Exaion, operates about 10 nodes “for itself” and more than 140 nodes on behalf of its customers, The Big Whale reports.

What is known about Exaion? The company was founded in 2020. It currently operates on the Polkadot, Cosmos, Avalanche, and Tezos blockchains. Exaion plays the role of a validator, meaning it validates transactions on these networks. This task includes cryptocurrency storage. In total, Exaion manages just over 300 nodes.
As of October 12, 14:00 UTC, ETH is trading at $1300, having gained 2,3% per day, according to Binance.
Earlier, German telecommunications giant Deutsche Telekom also became an Ethereum validator. The company’s T-Systems Multimedia Solutions division is working with StakeWise, a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO), to operate the pool. This allows customers to take part in validating transactions without having to run the validator themselves.
According to analysts, there are currently more than 429 600 active validators on the Ethereum network. More than 11 360 validators were added to the network in just September, indicating growing investor confidence as the risk of technical issues associated with the upgrade decreases.
