What’s new? The team of the Notcoin clicker game jointly with the artificial intelligence-based analytics Web 3.0 platform Helika has launched an accelerator for blockchain game developers on the Telegram messenger. The program will focus on supporting the development of mini-applications based on the TON blockchain.

What else is known? In March, Helika raised $50 million in venture capital to launch a crypto gaming accelerator. The initiative aims to make it easier to integrate crypto tools into early-stage games and products from major studios. Helika has previously collaborated with gaming giant Ubisoft and Yuga Labs, which created one of the most popular NFT collections, Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC).

A Helika spokesperson told Decrypt that the previous program and the Telegram accelerator announced today may overlap and share some resources, but the initiatives are separate and funded from different sources.

Notcoin was one of the first clicker games on Telegram where users could earn in-game NOT coins simply by tapping on the screen, which brought it immense popularity. In May, NOT coins were released on the blockchain and listed on crypto exchanges, and users were able to earn real cryptocurrency based on in-game balances.

On June 3, NOT’s market capitalization jumped to a record high of over $2,4 billion but has since declined by 50%. At the time of writing, NOT is ranked 69th in the cryptocurrency rankings and is trading at $0,01194, having lost 8,1% overnight. The weekly drop amounted to 22%.

For several months, even before the launch of the NOT token, the Notcoin team planned to go beyond the development of a single viral game and create an infrastructure to create other similar applications on Telegram.

Notcoin co-author Sasha Plotvinov noted that the project should become a base for developing “social, viral” crypto-games on Telegram.

At the end of June, the project team burned 210 million NOT worth $3 million and announced NOT payments worth $4,2 million to participants of the Notcoin Explore incentive program.

In July, institutional crypto custodian Cobo added support for the TON blockchain and the NOT coin issued based on it.
