What’s new? PayPal, a payment giant, has announced the creation of a new division. The advisory council on cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies aims to ensure the company’s leadership in the use and implementation of innovative spheres of activity.
Who will be on the council? According to a published press release, Jose Fernandez da Ponte, PayPal’s Vice President, will lead the council. In addition, other members of the new division include Peter Briger (co-CEO of Fortress Investment Group), professors Chris Brummer and Shafi Goldwasser, Neha Narula, and Antoinette Schoar from the MIT Institute, as well as a former Chairman of the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission Timothy Massad.
As PayPal’s representatives stressed, the creation of the council will allow working on the company’s current and planned projects in the field of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies.
