What’s new? Phillips will hold an auction of works by contemporary artists inspired by Japanese “kawaii” culture in the NFT format from 14 to 22 February. The auction will be titled My Kawaii Valentine, according to a message on the Phillips website.

What is known about the auction? It will feature works by artists such as Katherine Bernhardt, Edgar Plans, Gina Beavers, and others. In addition, the auction will feature the first series of art pieces created by the “artificial intelligence” program MonoC.
The works will have a starting price of HK$1000 (approximately $128 at the current exchange rate).
What had happened before? In late January it became known that Pablo Picasso’s granddaughter, Marina Picasso, and her son Florian Picasso will release 1010 NFTs of unpublished works by the famous artist. The first auction will be held by Sotheby’s in March and will feature a ceramic bowl.
