What’s new? South Korean presidential candidates Lee Jae-myung and Yoon Suk-yeol held an electoral campaign on the local cable TV network MBN’s metaverse. The politicians created their own avatars and answered voters’ questions in an online format. The candidates made campaign promises regarding the protection of citizens’ digital assets, Forkast reports.
What is known about the elections in Korea? The presidential election will be held on March 9, and ballot counting is scheduled to begin immediately after the voting. Both presidential candidates are targeting young citizens who are interested in digital assets.
Data from the country’s financial regulator showed that more than half of the country’s 5,58 million crypto traders are between the ages of 20 and 30. It was previously reported that Lee Jae-myung’s campaign funds were raised in cryptocurrency.
