What is known about the new unit? The head of the unit will be Puneet Singhvi, the former Citigroup head of the blockchain and digital assets department at global markets operation. The new unit plans to hire 100 employees.
The team will be tasked with shaping the conglomerate's strategy for applying the blockchain and digital assets. Citigroup noted the new initiative is a logical extension of its work in the digital space.
