What’s new? The NFT project Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) has entered into a partnership with the US magazine Rolling Stone, under which the parties will issue a collection of two non-fungible tokens, one BAYC and one MAYC (Mutant Ape Yacht Club). NFTs will be auctioned on June 22, at 09:00 ET (13:00 UCT), and can be purchased for ApeCoin (APE) tokens.

What preceded it? The BAYC team had already collaborated with the magazine before. Thus, in November 2021, two Rolling Stone covers in the form of NFT were released as part of a joint project. The editors also issued a limited physical run of 2500 copies of the magazine with the image of BAYC characters on the cover.

Bored Ape Yacht Club is one of the most expensive NFT collections created by Yuga Labs. The BAYC collection consists of 10 000 unique digital pictures on the Ethereum blockchain in the form of ERC-721 tokens. The minimum price per BAYC is $91 728 (84 ETH) as of June 22. The Yuga Labs project’s governance token is APE, with the asset trading at $4,15 as of 12:10 UCT, having lost 7,4% in price over the week, according to Binance.

On May 15, Ape #6462 from the BAYC NFT collection was sold on the OpenSea platform for $200. According to some users of the social network, the owner thought he was accepting an offer for 200 ETH instead of $200. Others are sure it was a tax evasion scheme. In the same month, a court in Singapore banned the sale of a non-fungible token #2162 due to an ownership dispute.
