What’s new? The DeLorean Motor Company, a car manufacturer, has applied for trademark registration for NFTs and the metaverse. Trademark attorney Michael Kondoudis reported that the company plans to create virtual cars, interactive non-fungible tokens, and digital stores in the metaverses. A total of two trademarks have been registered, DMC and DeLorean.

What is the car maker known for? The DeLorean Motor Company created a car called DMC DeLorean, which appeared in Robert Zemeckis’s Back to the Future film trilogy. With it, the film’s characters traveled through time.

The DeLorean Motor is not the first car company to join Web 3.0. In March, Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna reported that the company was exploring blockchain technologies and NFTs.

Japanese car manufacturers Nissan Motor and Toyota Motor also began to harness the power of the metaverse. Nissan launched its Tokyo Nissan Crossing gallery in virtual reality. Toyota used the metaverse to create a workspace for some departments and subsidiaries.
