What is the essence of the course? The project aims to reach more than 4 000 high school students, with course content to be adapted to each of the regions where classes will be held. However, the point of the project will be the same, to teach “transparent, open, inclusive, traceable and secure” bitcoin functions. This is the first initiative of its kind in Latin America.

What events happened before? Argentina created a hub to support startups in the field of financial technologies and cryptocurrencies. The innovation hub would operate under the supervision of the country’s National Securities Commission (CNV) and aimed to ensure that companies communicate with Argentine regulatory authorities at an early stage.

In early May, the Central Bank of the Republic of Argentina (BCRA) banned local financial institutions from offering customers transactions related to digital assets. This came after Argentina’s two largest private banks, Banco Galicia and Brubank, allowed customers to trade cryptocurrency. Banco Galicia noted that the decision was due to the high customer demand for digital assets.
