What’s new? Actor Anthony Hopkins’ first NFT collection, The Eternal Collection, sold out in less than seven minutes on the OpenSea marketplace. In this, high demand caused technical issues that delayed the launch by more than 45 minutes. The collection was created in collaboration with Orange Comet Inc., a Los Angeles-based NFT and Web3-focused design agency.

What is known about the collection? It consists of more than 1000 tokens with references to Hopkins’ roles, including the picture Silence of the Lambs, for which he won an Oscar, and the TV series Westworld. NFTs, with titles such as “The Eternal,” “The Jester” and “The Lover,” are said to conceptualize “an interpretation of the vast character archetypes Sir Anthony Hopkins has portrayed” in his career.

In addition to owning a piece of digital artwork, buyers will also be able to receive some perks, including a brunch with Hopkins, autographed physical prints of the artwork, and audio clips in which Hopkins talks about the meanings of various archetypes.

In early October, fashion brand Hugo Boss announced the release of its own NFT collection in partnership with Imaginary Ones, a Web3 firm. In September, Hennessy Cognac House released Paradis Golden Edition, an NFT collection of 500 tokens. The asset entitles the holder to receive a 700 ml bottle of the exclusive Hennessy Paradis cognac.

In January, musician Ozzy Osbourne released CryptoBatz, an NFT collection of 9666 tokens that can interact with other NFTs from the BAYC, SupDucks, and Cryptotoadz collections. In September 2021, Aquarium band leader Boris Grebenshchikov auctioned off a collection of 24 NFT portraits on the OpenSea platform.
