What’s new? The popularity of the search query “buy bitcoin” has dropped to a score of 9/100, according to Google Trends. The last time such a figure was seen was in September 2021. The data shows a decline in interest in the first cryptocurrency. The largest number of requests came from Nigeria, Ghana, and Cameroon. As of September 12, 06:45 UTC, BTC is trading at $21 800, having gained 1,9% overnight, according to cryptocurrency exchange Binance.
What else were users interested in? The search query “bitcoin” has dropped to the levels last seen in December 2020. From September 4 to 12, it achieved 21 scores. Residents of Nigeria, El Salvador, and Ghana showed the greatest interest in news about the first cryptocurrency.
Earlier, the CEO of financial advisory firm deVere Group, Nigel Green, noted that the number of addresses of large bitcoin holders increased by 103 in the last 30 days. According to him, the activity of large BTC investors demonstrates their desire to return to the crypto market.
Between June 12 and June 18, the search query “bitcoin dead” achieved the highest number of scores (100/100), according to Google Trends. The previous record was set in December 2017 with a score of 93.
