Record company bought Bored Ape for $365 000.
What’s new? Universal Music Group (UMG) has bought Bored Ape NFT #5537 for 125 ETH ($365 000 at the time of purchase). According to a statement from the companies’ representatives, the label will create a character for the music group Kingship based on the token. Other band members are also based on NFTs owned by the collector Jimmy “j1mmy” McNelis, Decrypt reports.
What is known about the virtual band? The project’s manager Nicholas Adler stated that Kingship plans to hold online concerts at the metaverses, as well as release their own NFTs. He admitted that he was inspired by one of the first virtual bands, Gorillaz. Adler added:
“We’re developing sounds, we’re developing stories and narratives. I think that the project, the process, and the music will be something that consumers and fans will see online as we develop it.”
