What’s new? On May 12, the crypto exchange Binance launches its own reality show in the metaverse. As part of “Build The Block,” 12 teams will compete against each other to become a major Web 3.0 project and receive investment from the venture capital division Binance Labs. The show will be entirely set in the metaverse using virtual cameras and custom avatars. The promo video for the new show is published on the official Binance Twitter account.

What else is known? According to the press release, 12 startups were selected to participate in the show from more than 900 applications. The seven episodes of Build The Block will be broadcast on the Binance Youtube channel and Binance Live on Tuesdays and Fridays. The first episode will air on May 12 and the finale will take place on June 2. The show is created in partnership with Lifeform, a leading provider of technology solutions for Web 3.0 virtual human avatars.

Participants in the show are expected to impress both the audience and the judges, including Yi He, co-founder and CMO of Binance and head of Binance Labs, Yibo Ling, chief business officer of Binance, Guy Turner, co-founder of the media platform Coin Bureau, Azeem Khan, a member of the WEF’s Crypto Sustainability Coalition and fundraising and partnership lead at Gitcoin, and Robby Yung, CEO of the investment companyAnimoca Brands and partner at Animoca Capital. The show will be hosted by Justin Bratton, who also hosts Asia’s Got Talent television competition.

Earlier it was reported that aggregator CoinMarketCap will also launch its own reality show about cryptocurrency startups, similar to the popular TV program Shark Tank. Killer Whales will begin filming in June and will air on major streaming services.
