Blockchain.com and Visa launch a debit card with cashback in crypto

What’s new? Blockchain.com, a blockchain explorer and crypto wallet service, has launched a Visa debit card that allows one to get a 1% cashback in crypto of one’s purchase amount. In this, both fiat and digital assets are available for payment. The crypto card is already available for US residents, and next year users from other countries will be able to order it as well.

What else is known about the card? The card is currently free to order, and there are no service fees either. According to Blockchain.com, there were already more than 50 000 users on the waiting list when the card orders started. Cuy Sheffield, head of Crypto at Visa, stressed that the company is excited to work with leading wallets and exchanges to open up more ways for consumers to use cryptocurrencies for everyday purchases.
Under the new EU sanctions, Blockchain.com began blocking accounts of Russians, giving them the opportunity to withdraw funds until October 27.
Earlier, crypto exchange FTX also announced the issuance of debit cards for its customers in cooperation with Visa. The cards are already available in the US and will soon be launched in more than 40 countries in Latin America, Europe, and Asia.
Mastercard and Dubai-based crypto exchange BitOasis will issue crypto cards for MENA customers. The first physical and virtual cards will appear in 2023.
