What’s new? Blur NFT marketplace has announced the beginning of the second season of token distribution for the project’s community. In total, there will be distributed more than 300 million BLUR, and the main criterion for the distribution and calculation of the reward will be the loyalty of users. Representatives of the platform announced this on Twitter. As of February 22, 09:50 UTC, BLUR is trading at $0,950154, having fallen by 21,4% within a day, according to aggregator CoinGecko.

What else is known? Blur users have three ways to maximize their loyalty score and get maximum rewards when distributing tokens:

  1. Add new NFTs to the platform.
  2. Use the Blur Marketplace exclusively without listing NFTs on other platforms.
  3. List as many ads on the marketplace as possible.

Developers warn against trying to cheat the system, including relisting NFTs at unrealistic prices or listing “dead” collections. The team emphasizes that most of the tokens will be distributed to community members who contribute to the successful development of the protocol.

According to analytics platform Dune, Blur continues to be the driver of the NFT sector and is showing significant results in terms of trading volumes, approaching the performance of the most popular marketplace, OpenSea.

What is known about the marketplace? Blur was launched in April 2022 by the US crypto exchange Coinbase after raising $11 million in a funding round led by venture capital firm Paradigm. The platform stands out for its personalization options and works similarly to major social networks: users can show personal information in profiles, subscribe to others, like, and comment. In February 2023, former CEO of BitMEX crypto exchange Arthur Hayes invested in the marketplace

On February 20, the team of the STEPN blockchain launched the New Horizon initiative, within which they held an airdrop of GMT governance tokens among Genesis NFT tokens holders.

The Litecoin network also rolled out the Ordinals protocol, which allows the creation of non-fungible tokens. Earlier this year, the protocol began working on the bitcoin network as well, with users creating more than 160 000 NFTs since then.
