The Walt Disney Company has published an announcement seeking a corporate attorney to work on transactions related to emerging technologies such as non-fungible tokens (NFTs), metaverses, and decentralized finance (DeFi). What else is known about the vacancy? The responsibilities will also include the expertise of blockchains, cloud providers, and trading platforms. Advice on “NFT and cryptocurrency-related matters and issues” should be conducted with an eye toward securities law. Experience in the non-fungible token, cryptocurrency and Web 3.0 space is desirable.
The company’s representatives noted that Disney plans to accelerate its development in the field of blockchain. They warned candidates that new projects usually rolled out “on an accelerated and aggressive timeline.”
In July, the Polygon blockchain platform became one of six companies that would participate in Disney’s 2022 Accelerator program aimed at developing AR, AI, and NFT technologies.
In February, Disney appointed a person responsible for the development of the metaverse. A team headed by Mike White, who has worked with ABC, National Geographic, Marvel, and Star Wars, will create virtual worlds.
