What’s new? On the night of Thursday, January 14, the hackers attacked the websites of the Ukrainian ministries and agencies. The pages of the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Sports, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, and others were affected by the attackers. This is stated in a message on Facebook of the Ministry of Education and Science.
What actions did cybercriminals take? The hackers published a message on the attacked sites, which indicated that all the data of the Ukrainian residents “was uploaded to the public network.” At the same time, the information on their computer is “destroyed, it is impossible to restore it.”
The attackers explained their act as revenge for the state's historical past and urged the citizens to “expect the worst.”
Access to most of the portals is now temporarily blocked.
What did the representatives of the hacked sites say? The Ministry of Education and Science said that it has already involved the cyber police in investigating the incident.
“The work on fixing the malfunction continues for now,” the agency’s Facebook page says.
