JPMorgan registers trademark for cryptocurrency wallet

What’s new? JPMorgan, a financial holding company, registered the trademark of the cryptocurrency wallet “J.P. MORGAN WALLET.” The application was filed with the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on November 15, 2022. This was announced by trademark attorney Mike Kondoudis on Twitter.

What is known about the new product? Kondoudis said that JPMorgan’s wallet covers crypto payment processing, virtual checking accounts, and other financial services, including managing counterparty funds for electronic transfer.
JPMorgan and cryptocurrencies. The holding company previously launched tokenized deposits in US dollars. In October, it became known about plans to launch a corresponding instrument in euros as well. Also, JPMorgan is in talks with a number of music platforms of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to introduce the possibility of accepting fiat payments.
In October, JPMorgan and Visa began working jointly to streamline cross-border payments using their private blockchains, Liink and B2B Connect. The main goal of the joint project is to reduce the number of failed payments related to incorrect account information. Deutsche Bank has already joined the founders of the project.
In October, Kondoudis reported that Visa also filed a trademark application for the crypto wallet.
