What else is known? In the letter, the scammers write that the company is allegedly conducting a critical security upgrade, and users need to confirm their recovery phrases to ensure asset protection.

They claim that refusal to undergo the procedure will result in restricted access to the wallet and funds. Attached at the end of the email is a malicious QR code, when clicking on the link, from which users are supposedly required to enter their password.

Following the instructions from the email will entail losing access to the wallet and all funds.

Ledger representatives confirmed that the emails in question are in no way related to the company:

“Scammers impersonating Ledger and Ledger representatives are unfortunately common. Always remember: Ledger will never call, DM, or ask for your 24-word recovery phrase. If someone does, it’s a scam.”
