What’s new? Crypto payment platform MoonPay has connected to the Revolut Pay service of the leading UK neobank Revolut, allowing its UK and EU customers to buy digital assets in one click with funds in their bank accounts.
What else is known? Revolut users will be able to confirm cryptocurrency purchases with a biometric ID or password.
Revolut Pay, which allows online purchases directly from an account, offers built-in fraud protection and instant transaction processing.
The integration will extend to more than 500 MoonPay partner platforms, including popular wallets and decentralized applications (dApps), giving the latter access to retail customers in regulated European markets.
MoonPay CEO Ivan Soto-Wright said the new integration allows Revolut’s millions of users to buy cryptocurrency in a familiar way, while helping to bring the traditional and digital finance sectors closer together.
Earlier in July, video platform Rumble announced a partnership with MoonPay to launch the Rumble Wallet crypto wallet in Q3.
MoonPay was also the first to receive a BitLicense license from the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) this year, allowing it to operate in all states.
In May, Mastercard partnered with MoonPay to launch stablecoin cards to expand global access to crypto payments. The project, which is being built on the Iron platform that MoonPay bought in March, will allow cryptocurrency to be automatically converted to fiat upon payment.
Also in May, MoonPay announced a strategic partnership with TRON DAO, the decentralized autonomous organization behind Justin Sun’s TRON blockchain management. In the first phase of the collaboration, MoonPay will add the ability to purchase the TRX native token in the United States.
In addition, in July, it became known that Ivan Soto-Wright was the victim of a $250 300 fraud scheme. According to US court filings, Soto-Wright and MoonPay CFO Mone Ammari Siala sent the funds to a Nigerian fraudster posing as the co-chair of Trump’s inaugural committee.
