The National Bank of Belarus has announced the creation of a working group to combat illegal cryptocurrency transactions and prevent the transfer of funds abroad. The decision was made following a meeting chaired by Alexander Egorov, First Deputy Chairman of the National Bank.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the banking sector and crypto companies that are residents of the Hi-Tech Park (HTP), where all legal exchangers and exchanges working with digital assets in the country are registered.

Main tasks of the working group
The main topic of the meeting was the prevention of unauthorized payment transactions and the withdrawal of stolen funds through crypto residents. The participants came to the conclusion that the fight against gray schemes requires a comprehensive approach.
Alexander Egorov noted that the crypto market continues to grow, and the National Bank is interested in its development. According to him, approaches to combating fraud should be developed jointly, with the participation of the regulator, banks, and crypto platforms.
The working group will develop mechanisms for joint monitoring and data exchange between market participants in order to quickly identify and block suspicious transactions.
In Belarus, only companies registered with the Hi-Tech Park (HTP), which issues licenses and controls their activities, can work with cryptocurrencies.
