What’s new? Payment system PayPal plans to integrate its own PYUSD stablecoin into more of its products throughout 2025 to connect merchants under a single platform. PYUSD will be offered as a payment option for 20 million small and medium-sized merchants. As top executive Michelle Gill clarified, the company expects corporate customers to bring their vendors into the PayPal network to simplify transactions.
What else is known? She clarified that the company expects cross-border payments to grow as merchants in the United States seek to pay vendors and suppliers overseas. PayPal plans to simplify international payments using PYUSD to avoid currency conversions and improve the speed and efficiency of transactions.
PayPal conducted its first business transaction using PYUSD last October.
The company also plans to add PYUSD as an option for global payments through Hyperwallet, which helps organizations send payments en masse to contractors, freelancers, or merchants around the world. PayPal bought Hyperwallet in 2018 for $400 million.
Hyperwallet will add support for payments in PYUSD in the first half of this year, it will also allow merchants to settle PayPal payment transactions in other cryptocurrencies by the end of the year.

Users of non-custodial solutions will be able to transfer assets without centralized intermediaries
PYUSD ranks 115th overall in the overall cryptocurrency ranking and 10th on the list of stablecoins by market capitalization with a value of $703,6 million.
