What’s new? Krafton, a Korean company, which created the PUBG game, has signed a partnership agreement with Solana Labs. The deal aims at the development and marketing of blockchain-based games and services. In addition, Krafton and Solana Labs will collaborate on investment opportunities.
How do the companies assess the deal? Park Hyungchul, lead of Web3 at Krafton, said that they are always open to collaborations with companies operating on the blockchain. In his view, Solana is one of the world’s best high-performance blockchains with high speed and low fees.
Johnny Lee, head of games business development at Solana Labs, described Krafton as a recognized innovator in the games industry. He added that Solana Labs is excited to be part of the gaming company’s future.
What is Solana? Solana is a blockchain powered by the Proof-of-History consensus algorithm (based on adding timestamps to blocks). The project was founded by former Qualcomm and Dropbox developer Anatoly Yakovenko. In 2018, the first Solana test network was launched. The platform has a native token SOL.
