  • Solana Mobile will conduct an airdrop of the SKR token on January 20th for Seeker smartphone owners and ecosystem developers.
  • 2 billion tokens will be allocated for the airdrop, but Solana Saga users will not be able to participate.

Solana Mobile announced an airdrop of the new SKR token for Seeker smartphone owners and mobile ecosystem developers. The distribution is scheduled for January 20th. Users of the earlier Solana Saga model will not be eligible for the airdrop, a company representative confirmed.

In the official announcement, Solana Mobile listed the date as January 21st, but the discussion clarified that the actual distribution of tokens will begin on January 20th at 9:00 PM ET.

Who will receive how many SKR tokens?

The airdrop will allocate 20% of the supply, or 2 billion SKR. These tokens will be distributed among owners of second-generation Seeker smartphones and app developers. A total of 30% of the total supply of 10 billion tokens has been reserved for incentive airdrops.

Solana Mobile General Manager Emmett Hollier stated that SKR will allow the community to participate in the development of the platform and the formation of its rules. According to him, the current airdrop is just the first step.

A snapshot of Seeker user activity was taken in advance. It covers over 9 million transactions worth $2.6 billion completed during Seeker Season 1 since the device shipments began in August.

In addition to the airdrop, an additional 2.7 billion SKR will be unlocked on January 20th:

  • 1 billion for liquidity,
  • 1 billion for the community treasury,
  • 700 million for growth and partnerships.

An additional 1.8 billion tokens are planned to be unlocked gradually to support future initiatives.

Solana Mobile emphasizes that its goal remains the same: to simplify and secure access to digital markets through mobile devices.

The Seeker smartphone costs $500 and has already been pre-ordered by over 150,000 users. The Solana Saga model, famous for previous airdrops, lost updates and security support in October. The same restriction applies to the SKR token distribution — Saga holders will not participate.
