Key points:

  • Tether is leveraging Rumble’s 51 million monthly active users to roll out its new dollar-backed stablecoin, USAT.
  • The company has invested $775 million in Rumble and owns 48% of its shares.
  • USAT will be launched in August 2025 for the US market.

The issuer of the world’s largest stablecoin, Tether, has unveiled a plan to accelerate the rollout of its new USAT asset in the United States. CEO Paolo Ardoino said that the key partner will be the Rumble video platform, which has an audience of over 51 million active users per month.

During a panel discussion at Token2049 in Singapore, Ardoino noted that Rumble plans to launch a crypto wallet based on Tether technology by the end of 2025. This product will allow users to interact directly with the USAT stablecoin.

Tether’s strategy and Rumble’s role

“The aim there is to prove how we can convert [Rumble’s] 51 million [monthly] active users, mostly in the United States, to use stablecoins within the US, the most sophisticated country nation for financial rails.”

Last year, Tether invested $775 million in Rumble and acquired a 48% stake in the platform. This gives the company a strategic advantage in promoting its products in the US market.

New stablecoin and growth plans

On September 12, 2025, Tether announced USAT, a dollar-pegged stablecoin created specifically for the US market. At the same time, Bo Hines was appointed CEO of Tether USAT.

The new token is backed by the dollar, complies with the GENIUS Act, and runs on the Hadron platform. The issuer is the crypto bank Anchorage Digital, and the custodian of reserves is Cantor Fitzgerald.

Earlier, in August 2025, the SEC clarified the rules for accounting for stablecoins: dollar tokens can be recognized as cash equivalents if they have redemption mechanisms and stable value. The regulator also confirmed that such assets are not considered securities and do not require registration of issuers.
