What’s new? Open Network, also known as TON, has integrated with the LayerZero interoperability protocol for cross-chain asset transfers across more than 100 blockchains — ranging from Ethereum, Tron, Solana, and nine other blockchains. TON Foundation Chief Operating Officer Max Pertsovskiy noted:
“We believe this integration marks a significant step forward for TON when it comes to uniting ecosystems and bringing greater interoperability to the broader crypto ecosystem.”
What else is known? TON’s integration with LayerZero aims to address the former’s limitations in liquidity and access to the underlying crypto assets of other blockchains by providing seamless access to other crypto projects. According to the press release, “TON is now able to deliver sustainable liquidity and improve accessibility to its ecosystem, setting the stage for widespread adoption.”
The press release states that key partners utilizing LayerZero’s infrastructure on TON include the USDT0 consortium, Ethena, and cross-chain bridge Stargate. Pertsovskiy adds:
“By connecting TON to a wide variety of other chains, developers now have all the tools they need to build decentralized applications for a truly global audience.”
Earlier, TON Foundation began collaborating with the team of Curve Finance, a decentralized crypto exchange (DEX) on the Ethereum network. Together, the parties developed a platform for exchanging stablecoins. Telegram and TON Foundation also announced that from February 21, third-party Telegram crypto wallets must use TON Connect as their exclusive connection protocol.
