Christieʼs auction house has ended the auction of an NFT collection “The Birth of Wikipedia.” The first online encyclopedia edit in the form of NFT for $750 000 went under the hammer, along with the platform’s creator Jimmy Wales' personal iMac for $187 500. The names of the buyers are not specified.

What is known about the lots? As the first edit on the encyclopedia's website, made on January 15, 2001, Wales chose the phrase Hello, World! This entry he made on Apple's strawberry-colored iMac.
The Christieʼs website explains that Wales will use the proceeds from his NFT tokens sale to support the alternative social network, WT.Social.
