What’s new? Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT collection, created by Yuga Labs, now has a “community council.” It includes seven holders of BAYC non-fungible tokens, and, according to the company’s representatives, that number will grow over time. The council’s responsibilities include providing feedback to the community, promoting initiatives, and developing “autonomy.” The established group will also work with the Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) collection.
More details about the initiative. Among other things, Yuga Labs will create a separate forum to communicate with the council. There, community members will be able to ask questions and offer their ideas. The group will also be responsible for organizing new commercial projects, business meetings, and charitable giving.
The board includes Bored Room Ventures co-founder Josh Ong, artist alias Sera, The Miami Ape founder Laura Rod, community manager at Decentral Games alias 0xEthan, one of BAYC’s first buyers alias 0xWave, and a Hong Kong-based investor known as Negi.
BAYC is one of the most expensive NFT collections. It consists of 10 000 unique images of monkeys on the Ethereum blockchain as ERC-721 tokens. Yuga Labs’ project governance token is APE, as of October 7, 11:30 UTC, the asset is trading at $5,172, down by 1,41% per day, according to Binance.
In August, rappers Eminem and Snoop Dogg performed the single “From the D 2 The LBC,” recorded in collaboration with the Otherside metaverse and BAYC, at the VMA Awards. The music video featured characters from the collection. Eminem owns token #9055, Snoop Dogg owns token #6723.
